About
HoopVortex is a free browser game. Two or three people draft all-time NBA players from the same shared pool, and a simulation decides whose five wins.
Every round the wheel lands on one roster — a team in a single season, or a team across a decade. Everyone drafts from that same roster, choosing which position each pick fills. Take a player and nobody else can have them.
Where the numbers come from
Player ratings are built from publicly available NBA statistics. Each player is scored on five axes — scoring, playmaking, rebounding, defence and efficiency — as a percentile within their own era, so a 1962 season is compared with 1962 rather than with 2024.
Statistics that did not exist yet are treated as missing rather than as zero. Steals and blocks were not recorded before the 1973-74 season, and the three-point line arrived in 1979-80.
