HoopVortex is a free browser game. This policy explains what is collected, why, and how to have it removed.
What is collected
- A display name you type when joining a game. Use anything you like; it need not be your real name.
- Game data — rooms, picks, results — so everyone in a room sees the same draft.
- An anonymous account identifier, created automatically so the game can tell players apart. It is not linked to your identity.
- An email address, only if you choose to create an account. Accounts are optional and are never required to play.
No name, address, phone number or payment details are collected to play.
Who processes it
- Supabase hosts the database and authentication. Game data and any account email are stored there.
- Cloudflare serves the site and provides privacy-preserving, cookieless analytics.
- Google AdSense may serve advertising (see below).
- Stripe would process any future one-time purchase. Card details go directly to Stripe and are never seen by HoopVortex.
Advertising cookies
HoopVortex may use Google AdSense to display advertising. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to this and other websites.
You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings, and read how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Third-party vendors may also be opted out at aboutads.info/choices.
In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland you will be asked for consent before personalised ads are shown. Advertising is not shown on the draft board or in the lobby.
Local storage
The game stores small preferences in your browser so it can remember your session. This stays on your device and is not readable by HoopVortex servers.
Children
HoopVortex is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
Deleting your data
Email hoopvortexapp@gmail.com and ask. Rooms and their picks are disposable and may be removed periodically regardless.
